AUSSIE LOGIC KOOL & KALM ULTRA LOW STARCH
Kool & Kalm ULS is an extruded feed made with all natural ingredients and no by products or fillers. It is made to a fixed formula not a least cost formulation so that the feed will remain the same the year round. Kool & Kalm ULS is made with a wet steam extrusion process which increases the digestibility of the feed to +/- 95% and the particle size is such that it can be used for all ages of horses, from foals to geriatric horses. While there is some starch in Kool & Kalm ULS (it is essential to the manufacturing process) the starch has been modified by the steam extrusion process so that it will be slowly absorbed into the blood stream and will have little effect on the blood sugar levels. Kool & Kalm ULS has 25% less starch than normal Kool & Kalm. Kool & Kalm ULS contains kelp meal (Ascophyllum nodosum) which supplies organic iodine, sulfonated short chain polysaccharides and L-fucose. These working together with the minerals in the mineral pack may assist in improving nerve function, blood flow and memory, as well as controlling gram negative bacteria in the intestinal tract. Kool & Kalm ULS also contains Yucca extract which reduces the odor of manure and urine helping to control flies in the stable area.
Feeding Kool & Kalm Ultra Low Starch Lactating Mares and Breeding Stallions: Nursing or Weaned Foals. When changing your horse to ULS, feed only hay and water for 12 hours, then feed the recommended rate of ULS. DO NOT mix ULS with other feeds. It is recommended to have salt and clean, fresh water available for your horse at all times. Poor quality hay may lead to colic and other digestive problems. Feed your horse at regular times. Let horses feed at positions low to the ground. When changing the feed rate, do not increase more than one pound per day over a period of a week. If the horse is excited, feverish, hot, diarrhea, or showing any pain, reduce or delay feeding. Observe your horses' condition daily and consult a veterinarian if any problems arise. Maintain a good internal parasite control program. Prevention and treatment of common colic, founder, and choke are difficult because the factors may not be readily identifiable. With good management of feeding, one can reduce these potential problems. If any of these problems occur, obtain immediate veterinary assistance. To help minimize these dangers, provide plenty of clean water, correct all dental problems, and prevent the bolting of feed. Choke (blockage of the esophagus) may occur if chewing and/or salivation is insufficient. Horses that are chronic to choke should receive a thorough medical examination then follow the veterinarian's recommendations.
Storage of Aussie Logic Ultra Low Starch AUSSIE LOGIC feed will store well for long periods . Store Aussie Logic ULS in a dry, clean, well ventilated area protected from insects and rodents. DO NOT feed moldy or insect-infested feed to animals as it may cause sickness or DEATH .
