I wanted to share a couple of experiences with you explaining how I "got hooked" on Aussie Logic Kool & Kalm. I had heard about the opening of Boomerang Feed Store in Liberty Hill where I live. I stopped by to meet the owners and check out their 'goods' for sale. I immediately liked Jeff Thomas and enjoyed his explanation of the "Kool & Kalm" horse feed. Not being inclined to change feeds without having a definite reason, I continued feeding as I had been doing for years.
We had purchased a yearling AQHA Perlino stallion prospect a few years prior to meeting Jeff and hearing about his product. Creme Brulee, the young stallion, had light hooves that chipped and wore down quickly. We had him examined at A&M as well as several other vets. We tried a myriad of topical meds and even Gallium as a supplement, without much change. I was exasperated and disappointed with no results. My farrier told me that at 3 barns where he had recently shod, he had noticed an obvious improvement in the horses he worked on. After talking with the 3 different owners of these horses, he was told that the horses had been switched to Aussie Logic approximately 4-8 weeks ago. I immediately switched Brulee to Kool & Kalm and we saw a big improvement in his hoof quality almost immediately. Brulee runs in our TX Hill Country pastures, rocks and all, without shoes! I have NO doubt that this feed fixed his hooves. We had already tried almost everything else!
After such success, I began feeding Kool & Kalm to my aged Arabian Stallion, Zorrgo. He was in good health and always had perfect feet, so we had no real issues other than age. Zorrgo will be 25 in a few days and he looks GREAT! I then decided to feed Kool & Kalm to all my horses, old and young alike. Every horse loved it and they all showed an improvement in hair coat and definitely better feet.
We had an aged Arabian mare who was having trouble maintaining her weight. I called Jeff, and he told me I could feed her free choice. He suggested that I keep her feed trough full at all times. He assured me that, even though she had previously colicked frequently, not to worry. Sure enough, she blossomed and fattened up without ever having any colic issues.
Obviously, I am a true believer in this wonderful feed.
PS: I almost left out the most remarkable recovery of all.
We rescued an 18 year old Arabian mare. She is lovely with an impeccable pedigree, but she had sustained a TERRIBLE injury when she was caught in a barbwire fence and her hoof nearly ripped off. When we brought her to our place, she could not bear weight on her right front hoof. Black "goo" ran out of the open split from above her coronary band all the way to the ground. The hoof was open at least 1.5 inches at the ground level. After examining her, our vet suggested euthanasia.
Wanting to save her, we asked our farrier to try to make her at least comfortable. Being a great farrier and a wonderful, compassionate person, he did make huge strides in making her special
shoes and we kept her in an area where her needs were close by. The hoof did not repair itself, but the excellent shoeing did give her some relief and the ability to move around.
We switched to Kool & Kalm about a year later. Within a year, she had a hoof she could walk on. There is still a scar and she has to wear shoes, but she can run and play and is not in pain. The difference was Kool & Kalm.

My name is Kay Skillern, owner of Lucas & Liebe where I work to carry the best products on the market for the safety, health and well-being of my animals while also being sensible about it! I have carried Aussie Logic Kool & Kalm for about 3 years and have a loyal customer base of fellow animal lovers. Everyone who uses Aussie Logic loves the feed and sees amazing results and benefits from using it.
First of all, let me say that if I couldn't buy this feed I would be at a total loss of how to feed all my animals. I've been feeding this feed for at least 3 years and never have had a day of worry since. The fact that the feed is absorbed in the small intestines means no more fear of feed related colic or mood changes related to feed, and no fear of overeating, or ANYTHING. My horses and the horses that board at my place look like a million bucks. Shiny coats, good attitudes, easy keepers. I can't tell you how many times people have said to me, 'you must spend a lot of time grooming your horses'. I always laugh because I spend so LITTLE time grooming my horses - they are just naturally shiny and beautiful and I owe most of it to this feed.
I also raise exotic show guinea pigs. Before I switched them to Kool & Kalm as an experiment 3 years ago I was having lots of problems with pregnancies. I almost dreaded when a litter was coming because it was such a crap shoot whether they would make it or not from toxicity, even though I had tried all kinds of feed and mixtures of feed and everything anyone had ever told me about. Since the switch, I do not believe I have had a single case of toxicity in my pregnant sows. And, it is so easy to feed - just that one feed and nothing extra other than hay and vitamin C and veggies (in the case of the cavies). This feed works across the board in almost all animals - I know there are a few that don't do well (goats and cows?).....but, all the rest do!
I'm proud to be an Aussie Logic Kool & Kalm user and dealer. I always know that I am recommending the best thing out there for the health and well-being of our precious animals and pets. Thank you for reading and if I can ever answer any questions, please feel free to contact me!
